Me and the guys went and saw Ironman Sunday night. Two Thumbs up! It was pretty stinking cool. I would probably go see it again, and for me twice in the theater, it's gotta be good. You gotta love good triumphing over evil that plot never gets old. Overall great pick, but don't just take my word for it check it out for yourselves!

MARIO KART WII

My brother surprised me yesterday with a gift(how cool is that). Mario Kart for the Wii! It's a really great game and the best part is the Wii Wheel controller. I remember when video games first came out it was so funny to watch someone play for the first couple of times because they would move the controller all over the place trying to make the charcater's move. Now that is the coolest way to play, moving the controller all over the place, jumping and running. O how things change. If you have a Wii check this game out because it ROCKS!

It was nice surprise to look at my bank account this morning and see an extra 1200 bucks in there! The big question now is what are we gonna do with our cash? My first thought along with probably half of America is a new plasma TV, but alas I'm not gonna let that giddy smell of free money get the best of my senses! The question comes up -If I keep it in the bank will it be my fault the economy is slow? Who knows for sure, but I think that there are enough people in this country who spend way more than they earn who will off set my lack of spending. Call me old fashion but I am gonna leave mine exactly where my nice uncle Sam placed it...in my bank account at least for now, until my nose has cleared that sweet smell of green I can't make a WISE decison. Don't get me wrong, I'm no scrooge. I'm gonna do my part to help the economy. Today I am gonna get an extra large drink for lunch instead of just ordering a regular, and honestly 1200 is just not enough for the TV of my dreams!

I love this commercial! The Discovery Channel does it again with their great marketing! I can't get this song out of my head(just ask my wife) it is so catchy and it doesn't help that I used to sing it when I was a wee lad back in grade school! Back then it had religious lyrics to it, and deep theological meaning but it was the same fun tune. Don't be surprised if you see me rip this concept off to use for my own commercial of some sort. (devious laugh)hehehehehe!

The Chicago Cubs won their 10,000 game last night! They are only the second team to accomplish that in the history of baseball! Lou Pinella (the manager) won his 100 game as a Cub last night too! The cubbies are off to a great start leading their division by 2 games, but alas its only April...Maybe this is the year!...

I think the "Tech" age has brought us all much closer together, or at least given us the ability to see how close we already were(I know that is deep). I have had some crazy mixes of my worlds lately. Let me explain...I have all these little worlds around me, we all do, and they make up sections of people in our lives. Almost always when those two worlds collide, it's just strange. Here is an example.

I went to school here in South Bend at a tiny little private school with a graduating class of 21 then I went to college in a little town in New York at a little school of about 450. One day I run into one of my 21 classmates and she tells me that she is married, and then tells me who she married. It was a guy from my school in New York...What?

The other day I got on facebook and see that one of my friends is dating another one of my friends, ok that is normal, but one of those people I know from my Rock and Roll era, because he was in another band we played a lot of shows with. The girl he is seeing I knew through her brother who I was real good friends with in high school and yes one of the 21 people I graduated with...What?

One more! My wonderful wife is playing softball this summer and after the first practice she comes home and tells me that she met some people on her new team that know me...Yes, one of them being a girl that was in my class of 21 in high school...What?

It's kinda nice to know that it's a small world after all!

I know that spring actually started a few weeks ago, but this weekend I finally feel like spring is here!

- I am wearing shorts to work (and not getting cold)
- We pulled the grill out and made burgers and Hot Dogs (Yeah!)
- I started my lawn mower and then mowed my grass (ehh)
- When I get home from work it's still light out!
- Cubs baseball (13-6)

My Wife finished school a few months back and we have been looking forward to a trip to Savannah, GA for her graduation ceremony on Dec. 15. She really started to get excited when she got a package in the mail from the school containing her diploma. After she showed it off to a few dozen people someone pointed out that her last name was spelled wrong(we didn't even notice) But I guess that is what you get when you marry a Tarwacki!

We had such a great night/morning at chick-fil-a's grand opening, all six of us got free value meals for a year! Looks like we are gonna be eating more chicken this year! It was honestly one of the most fun things I have done in my life! We spent about 8-10 hours just chillin' in the parking lot having all kinds of fun with all kinds of people and playing all kinds of games! Ruth won a limbo contest and got a free beach towel out of it and I got lots of video footage(thanks James) and am gonna make a video and post it on you tube asap! But for now off to bed for a few hours of shut-eye!

I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this morning as Julpottery comes to a close and all I can say is.... what a wonderful series of books! If you have never jumped on the Harry Potter ban-wagon you should! I jumped on 6 years ago, thanks to all the religious quacks wondering what all the fuss and book burnings were about and I have loved every second of it! You will not find a better set of books in this time period anywhere. Thank you J.K. Rowling for entertaining me for the last 6 years and many more to come!

Today I went to the bank and picked up a roll of the new $1 coin! The coin has our 2nd president John Adams on it. I am a casual coin collector and I'm kinda exited about the $1 coins so I am gonna throw this out for any of you who want to jump on the wagon, NOW is the time because you can still get your hands on the rolls of Washington and Adams coins, wait 5 years and who knows if they will be around? If nothing else it's a good way to save a few bucks for the future!

We had a Boy's night out on Sat. in Muskegon, MI it was loads of fun! We went to Craig's Cruisers It's a fun park with games,batting cages, go-karts, and mini golf. We also tried a new steakhouse (new to us) called Brann's It was pretty good food... When you put your name in there you get a card with somebody famous on it and then they call you to your table by that name...We got Sponge Bob Square pants and it doesn't get any more famous than that! The reason for the boys night out was to show Dan (soon to be bro-in-law) a good time, before he has a great time being married! The wedding is soon you guys!

APRIL SHOWERS

This morning I woke up around 6:30 and heard it pouring down rain...not all that strange I know but then I had one of those thoughts come racing to the front of my mind..."I left my car window half open"...oops! I went running down the stairs and toward the door and realized I was just wearing some boxers, so I went to the closet and grabbed a coat and ran outside. After the cold wet run to the car I sat down in it and shut the door. (remember it's 6:30 and I'm not all there) I put the keys in and rolled up the window and then ran back to the house. I was soaked! I sat right in the wet seat, and ran through the rain and all of this happened in a matter of seconds! You gotta love those early morning thoughts while you half asleep!

DAY 5

Breakfast was finally eaten on the go because we were trying to get to church on time! We attended Next Level Church Sunday morning with Kevin and we really enjoyed it! We all walked away with something valuable that we could use and something fun we could eat! (snickers bars) After Church we went shopping for a little bit and then pulled into a Sonic for a bite to eat! We drove home after that and got stuff ready for my friends Jason and Lauren to come over and hang out with us! We had a fun time together which included some food, TV,naps, Swimming,laughing,and then some more food which is a good Sunday schedule in my book! For supper we went to this great place called Pinchers Crab Shack where I had crab legs for the first time(sheltered I know) Overall the night was full good memories with good friends! After Jason and Lauren took off we watched more TV and all kinda had the blues because we knew Monday was coming...Vacation is almost over...

DAY 4

We started off the day like the other days on the trip, breakfast by the pool in the warm sun at our favorite table! After breakfast we went over to Kevin's house and loaded up the car with our junk and the jet ski's! We spent most the day on those things...what a fun day! We saw a few dolphins swimming right next to us,like right next to us, I was so close I could have jumped onto one of the dolphins, it was cool. In the afternoon we met up with some of Kevin's friends at the beach and we took turns taking the jet ski's out one at a time! After a while the sun was to hot to be outside anymore so we decided to make our way back home on the jet ski's which was about a 20min. ride after you get through all the no wake zones, TOTAL BLAST! That evening after we got cleaned up and took a dip in the pool we went to Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse for supper. The food was great, the company was great, and the whole day was great! We spent the rest of the night at the house watching the Dish!

DAY 3

We are still having the time of our lives! Florida is great! We started the day off at the pool side dining table(pic to the left) with some great breakfast, then we got into our Uplander and drove to Sanibel and Captiva Island. We spent the morning at the beach laying out in the hot sun then taking a dip in the warm Ocean water and then reapeating the process. After we had cooked for a while in the sun we found a bike rental place and rented some sweet bikes! It was time for lunch after that so we rode across the street from the rental and ate at this great place called Hungry Heron. The portions were huge and the plates were shaped like fish, it was an island kind of place if you know what I mean...after lunch we had to ride all that food off and we did. The whole Island has bike trails all over it and they are all paved. I saw almost as many bikes as cars there, so you understand how fun it could be riding all over! After biking for quite a while we decided to park the bikes and head back to the house. We got back home and decided to take a swim, since the pool is just asking us to jump into it, it's hard to resist. We got the fishing poles out after that, I threw into the water and pulled a catfish out in a matter of minutes! Dinner came after that(not the catfish) we ate shish kabob's with chicken,shrimp,steak, and a bunch of veggies. After that a few games of sequence and some oreo's and milk we went to bed! What a fun day!

DAY 2

Starting the day off with breakfast by the pool we had a fun 2nd day!
We found an outlet mall not to far away and with Magellan guiding us we were off to the shopping center. Lots of stores, some of the better ones were Bose, Fossil,Banana Republic, Nike... and about 100 more. I found a great new head for my watch and a cool new wallet at the fossil store. After a long day of shopping we came back to the house for supper..hot dogs,hamburgers, and brats on the grill YUMMY! We hooked up with Kevin that night after walking over to his house and caught up on old memories and made some great plans for day 4! Overall a very relaxing day full of sun and fun and ending with another dip in the hot tub of course!

DAY 1

Well we arrived in Clearwater safe and sound last night about 7:50pm after a very nice flight we went to the alamo booth to pick up our mid-size car...which ended up being a uplander van...long story! So we cruised in our sweet van to ft. Myers and arrived there at about 11pm(thanks to Magellan). After turning on the hot tub and taking in the house (which was paradise!) we took a trip to Wal-mart to stock up on some supplies for our weekend! At about 2:30am we jumped into the hot tub and enjoyed the warm morning! After that our beds where calling! Two thumbs for Florida

Yesterday was not just a normal day... The Grand Canyon opened their skywalk, the US Post office unveiled their new R2D2 drop boxes (check out the trailer) and well I aged yet another year...I still slept in and went to work yesterday so it felt normal, but the nice thing is on your birthday you get lots of phone calls and text messages wishing you a great day... that kind of thing makes you feel loved! So when the black eyed peas asked me the question where is the love I said...

If you are a fan of the David Crowder Band like me then you might have heard they are recording their new album for the next few months. What you may not have heard is the cool new thing they are doing this time around! They have 6 webcams set up around the studio and they are running 24hrs. a day so you can watch them do what they do. The cams are pretty much real time and are updated every few seconds so if your not doing anything the next few months this will keep you busy take a look!

Last Night I played the Nintendo Wii for the 2nd time and I must say I do enjoy it! We played the bowling game which is probably my favorite so far because it is so"real" feeling, but I am not the only one that feels that way. I picked up those Bose Quiet Comfort 3 headphones today from the post office (they tried to deliver them yesterday but I was gone) and they are excellent! Everyone should own a pair of these...really...They are actually on my head right now while I am typing this post, and ironically I am listening to the John Williams Show online, who by the way has a new Tuesday night "Fun 30" segment (partly in response to my e-mail) called "Are you smarter than a talk show host?" It's simple grade school ?'s that none of us know, but you can call in and try winning a prize if you do know! Well I just had to let everyone know that the headphones are here and they sound great!

MY BIRTHDAY CAME EARLY!

Yesterday was quite a day! The highlight was me getting some of those Bose Quiet Comfort headphones for free! It has a story behind it so here goes... As I have said before I love listening to The John Williams Show and I like to be involved in whats going on, so last week I e-mailed him a suggestion to "mix up" his Tuesday's Fun 30 segment!(Fun 30 is just a cool game like thing he does everyday at 5:30, he changes it up for every day of the week) I didn't hear back from him right away so I thought maybe he didn't like the idea of changing his show...fast forward to this Tues. John reads my e-mail on the air and I heard it, and well I felt like he left out my whole point of listener interaction! So I decided to pick up the phone and call John and clear all this up. I got through and told the producer that I wrote the e-mail that John just read, and want to clear up any confusion it caused...so he puts me on with John! I told him I wasn't trying to cause trouble I just think that more listener interaction needs to happen on his Tuesday's fun 30. I told him it is a great opportunity to have someone call in and win some prizes. He said something about winning some heartland steaks(one of the prizes) and I said the prize I want to win are those Bose Headphones you give away! His response is... I am gonna do 2 things for you Pete... 1st I am gonna look at what we can do to get some listener interaction on Tues. and 2nd I am gonna send you a pair of those Quiet Comfort Headphones! I think I said "No way" or something like that but I can't recall due to the excitement!

Man vs. Wild

Last night I watched 2 hours of this show on Discovery called Man vs. Wild it was a great show! It's about this guy named Bear that strands himself in these crazy situations and tries to survive with the clothes on his back and his knife. I don't have cable so I have never seen this show before and maybe everyone in the world knows about it but me, but this is classic Discovery material so if you have the channel check out the show! I had the day off today and it was very productive... I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes along with finishing a project... We have been working on our bedroom for like months little by little, but today the end has come! I was able to finish the painting and the last two electrical things that I had to take care of and it feels good! I am happy to be a home owner and I have said it before and I will say it again... Ruth and I are very blessed by God to have such a great house!

Denver was one of the childhood cartoons that I rarely missed. Wow I am getting addicted to talk radio more specifically WGN Radio out of Chicago the last couple of weeks I have been excited each day to listen to the John Williams Show I don't know what it is I used to be a all music kind of guy but I guess stranger things have happened! I knew it was getting bad when I called in to the show a few days ago to join in with the discussion, they were talking about the hold your wee for a wii and I gave them my two cents on it. Like I said stranger things have happened but I worry that aliens may have taken over my brain or worse AM radio!

FISHY TOILET

This weekend I heard a lot about a certain product called the fish n' flush so I did some research on it and, it is what it sounds like a fish tank on your toilet. If you have an extra $450 laying around and you love fish this is the product for you! check it out

Ruth and I saw Happily N'ever After the other night. I am on the fence with this one! The story line was pretty cool because it brought together all the old fairy tails that you hear as a kid and put a new twist on them but, something just didn't click with me I think it was the humor side it just didn't get me, and they even used a fart joke! I would wait until this one hits DVD to see it kids!

My Brother just got a new XBOX 360 so I have been playing a little bit of that, my, how tecnology has advanced! We have come a long way from the old days of the Nintendo (which I also played this week) and even prior to that those pong days or whatever our parents played for fun.
We got NBA LIVE 07 for the 360 last night and playing that brought back all kinds of memories I have of playing basketball games with my bro... I remember back in the day playing Lakers vrs. Celtics on the Sega Genesis and we thought those graphics were radical then we advaced to some cool game like NBA Jam on the super nintendo and then on to the playstation and original XBOX. We have played our fair share of basketball...who know what the future holds maybe the XBOX 5000 or the Playstation 12 will have some great new technology like a real basketball!

I spent the last few minutes of Christmas eve and the first few minutes of Christmas day the same way I have for the last three years with a candle in my hand at Granger Community Church with my family! The candles are lit to help remind us that we are not alone in this world. It's always cool when they put out the lights and you see the candle light spread all around you. Good Times!

I am gonna go to bed now so Santa can do his thing.

The holiday rush is here this week, and I love it! A lot of Ruth's side of the family is visiting us in the next two weeks and that is always FUN! We are doing some last minute prep on the house finishing some bedroom stuff, getting the gas line run for the stove and stuff like that. I like listening to talk radio because sometimes you learn some really weird stuff! Yesterday I learned that the rights for the song Happy Birthday are owned by AOL Time Warner and they bring in about $2 million a year on royalties. This is the reason that you always get a funny song or jig at every restaurant that you attend on your birthday and not the traditional Happy Birthday. This week Ruth visited Sofa Mart to see what the status was on our couch...the salesman asked if any one had contacted us? What?
Well turns out the woman who sold us the couch had been fired for shady practices amongst customers a few weeks ago, she was our contact...also we found out the slip she wrote us stated that the couch would be here in 2 weeks which is a big difference from 8 weeks which she verbally told us, so the salesman that Ruth was talking to just assumed that we were furious and was apologizing and saying that they will make it up to us...So guess what? The couch will be here in two weeks like we have been planing only now sofa mart wants to "fix us up" with something for all the grief and suffering they caused!

Must Have Done Something Right is the title of the first track and 3 seconds into it I knew this was a good song. Last night I watched The Truman Show... It's on my top 20!
The reason is that movie was so far before it's time, it almost predicts the future and what was going to happen to TV in the coming years. The movie was originally going to be a Sic-Fi movie and while they were making it they thought that it was a pretty unbelievable story line. Give it a few years and boom Reality TV is born. I am sure this idea has probably come up in some of those network meeting as a new Reality show so watch out it might be coming soon to a TV near you!

Here we go!

Thurs. morning we arrived safe and sound in Atlanta about 3am, we stayed up and visited with Anna and Nathan for a while and then went to bed... after a few hours of sleep and some more visiting it was time for our Thanksgiving dinner so we all ate as much turkey as we could and went and played baseball. (It's more fun than napping after turkey) Here is a pic of the Thanksgiving Day Champions!

After the hike we all ate chili and played some air hockey. Good times! We pulled out about 8:30pm and made our way back to South Bend and got home about 8am on Sun. Morning.

I love this time of the year because of all the family get-togethers and I thank God for the awesome family he has given Ruth and I.

Today my soon to be brother-in-law, my pal James, and I fought our way through the forest to overcome nature with a mighty blow... Well we at least chopped down a few trees and drove a truck into the woods... So as I was saying we are pretty much Lumberjacks. We made this great curvey path into the woods and then cleared a circle at the end of the path and put a firepit in the middle of the circle! I will be sore tomorrow but it will be well worth it because of all the great bon fires that we will have in the circle. Just don't try to drive back there, you could get stuck.

We started working on the house again this week. The project at hand is the upstairs bedroom. We got some paint and I have been working on the patching all the holes in the floor. I also need to add about three lights because it is really dark up there. Once we get all that done we will carpet and change all the light switches and plug's so they look new and white to match the rest of the house! That should make the room complete... I will post some pictures of our progress one of these days, but until then use your imagination!

I have been listening to a band as of late called Monday Morning. I have not heard a lot of hype about it so I figure I will create some. I picked up their CD Fools Paradise back in August after hearing the song Wonder of it All on the radio and it's good stuff! I got a chance to check out the Notre Dame Basketball team tonight. My friend Will and I went to the Joyce Center and watched then take on Bellarmine, ND won 85 to 57.

The half time show was pretty groovy tonight, they had two guys in these giant human spheres race... we gotta get some of these. Check them out! Hours of Fun...(until the air runs out inside)

We experienced Atlanta today! We went to Varsity for lunch. It's a cool fastfood grease pit with some really good food! After Varsity we went to the Coke Museum. It was so much fun yet informative plus we sampled tons of different coke products from all over the world. We might have discovered the long lost uij fanta (as found in Hungary [uij = new in Hungarian]) that we loved so! Highlights... Lost kids, old coke commercials, cool souvenirs, and a photo shoot around every corner. We went back to Acworth for supper with my long lost uncle Richard who has been searching for uij fanta** and then went back to the house for some R&R!

We are gonna visit Chattanooga tomorrow!
